About NORANGO · Founded in 2010 by Michael Relf
Nearly 30 years of experience reinventing how businesses answer the phone.
From Michael Relf’s pioneering computer-telephony work in 1997 to NORANGO, founded in 2010, and today’s integrated AI and human communications platform, we have always believed technology should make customer service better, faster and more affordable.
From computer telephony to NORANGO AI
In 1997, Michael Relf founded an earlier communications business around Computer Telephony Integration. NORANGO was later founded in 2010. ISDN and DDI technology could identify the business being called and present appropriate client information to an operator. The same principle continues today: use communications technology to remove unnecessary work after a call and help the caller reach a useful next step.
The story has travelled through digital messaging, VoIP, distributed working, live reception, intelligent call routing and now integrated AI and human communications.
A more adaptable communications model
NORANGO was designed around VoIP, cloud infrastructure and a distributed workforce rather than a large fixed physical estate. This supports useful technology investment, staff welfare, a global talent pool and flexible service design around each client’s calls.
AI and people, configured together
AI is integral to NORANGO rather than an add-on. Calls can be designed around an AI-first, live-first, out-of-hours or hybrid route, with context moving between the agreed people, systems and next actions.
First call resolution
Answering the phone is not the objective. Where approved knowledge, integrations and workflows allow, NORANGO is designed to recognise the call, apply useful context, progress an appropriate action and escalate where human judgement matters.
Today and what is next
NORANGO operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, combining nearly three decades of communications experience with AI voice technology, automation and system integration. Potential savings depend on usage, service configuration and the alternative supplier or service being compared.
