Gamma Horizon connection guide
How to connect Gamma Horizon calls to NORANGO
Use Horizon’s receptionist-console and call-queue context appropriately, and keep any SIP or Teams route separate from the cloud-phone-service decision.
Gamma Horizon: no universal dial code
The reviewed Gamma Horizon material does not establish a universal forwarding shortcode. First identify whether the call is owned by Horizon, a Gamma SIP Trunk or Teams Direct Routing.
- Horizon call journey:
Use Horizon Collaborate guidance and approved Services settings. - Queue or receptionist route:
The authorised Gamma administrator applies the agreed queue, overflow and destination rule. - SIP or Teams architecture:
Use the separately documented Gamma SIP Trunk or Teams Direct Routing path after compatibility review.
Important: Do not substitute generic forwarding codes for a Horizon, SIP Trunk or Teams product.
Gamma Horizon is a customisable cloud phone system with a receptionist-console context and call queuing. That makes it a useful environment for deciding which calls should stay with users, move through a queue or reach NORANGO.
Gamma also documents SIP Trunks for an on-premise PBX and Direct Routing for a Microsoft Teams tenant. Those are distinct technical paths and should not be presented as a generic Horizon setting.
Where NORANGO can join the call journey
There is no need to replace a working phone system simply to improve call handling. The practical decision is which calls should reach NORANGO, and at what point.
1. Divert the calls you choose
Keep the number with its current provider and forward all calls, or only calls that meet an agreed condition, to NORANGO. Available conditions and charges depend on the provider product.
2. Let your team try first
Keep users, a hunt group, queue or opening-hours rule ahead of NORANGO. The handover happens when the first call path is busy, unanswered, overflowing or closed.
3. Use a compatible direct route
Some cloud and PBX environments may support a more direct connection. NORANGO confirms the provider product, permissions and technical route before proposing it.
4. Port the number when it suits you
Porting is a separate long-term option, not a requirement to begin. A number hosted with NORANGO can still route callers to agreed people, teams and departments.
What callers experience
When your team is busy
Caller → your business number → usual team or queue → no answer, busy or overflow condition → NORANGO. Your callers still meet the team path you have chosen first; NORANGO becomes the useful next step rather than a missed call.
When your office is closed
Caller → your business number → opening-hours rule → out-of-hours route → NORANGO. Daytime routing can remain as it is while evenings, weekends, holidays or planned coverage follow the agreed reception journey.
When a call needs to return to your business
NORANGO follows the agreed greeting, information capture, booking, escalation and transfer path. The call or its context can return to the agreed person, department or team when that is the right next step.
Where Gamma can fit
Horizon call queues
Gamma describes Horizon call queuing and receptionist-console routing for incoming calls to available users.
Gamma SIP Trunks
Gamma documents SIP Trunks connecting an on-premise PBX to its network, including multi-site resilient rerouting.
Teams Direct Routing
Gamma documents Direct Routing to a Microsoft Teams tenant, with Teams administration used for routing and queue settings.
Example: Horizon queue overflow
A call-queue design can define how availability and overflow should work. NORANGO helps shape the destination and handover rules; the approved Gamma administrator applies the provider setting.
Set up safely
1. Confirm the Gamma product
Identify Horizon, Gamma SIP Trunks or a Teams Direct Routing deployment and preserve the current inbound route.
2. Use the provider's applicable administration
For Horizon, work through the Horizon Collaborate knowledge base and approved Services settings. For an on-premise PBX, assess the separately documented Gamma SIP Trunk route.
3. Validate business continuity
For any queue or resilient-rerouting design, test expected caller treatment and make sure a business owner approves the escalation destinations.
Select the appropriate Gamma route
Does Gamma Horizon have universal forwarding codes?
The reviewed Horizon public material does not establish universal forwarding codes. Use the Horizon Collaborate account guidance for your product and permissions.
Can Gamma SIP Trunks route calls to a second site?
Gamma documents inbound and outbound multi-site rerouting for its SIP Trunks. The exact design needs an appropriate compatible PBX and provider setup.
Is Direct Routing the same as Horizon?
No. Gamma describes Direct Routing as a Microsoft Teams PSTN route. It should be evaluated as a Teams architecture, not a generic Horizon feature.
Can NORANGO decide the queue rule for us?
NORANGO can help design the caller journey and the agreed destination. Your authorised Gamma administrator remains responsible for applying provider-side settings.
