Vodafone Smart Divert: choose the condition

For an eligible Vodafone Business landline, dial the code for the call condition you want to hand to NORANGO. Use the matching hash code to turn that condition off.

  • Divert all calls: *21*number — deactivate with #21#
  • Divert if unanswered: *61*number — deactivate with #61#
  • Divert if busy: *67*number — deactivate with #67#

Important: These Smart Divert codes apply only to the eligible Vodafone Business landline service. Check your product, permitted destination and current cost before activation.

For an eligible Vodafone Business landline, Smart Divert can route all calls, calls that are not answered or calls when the line is busy to another number. That can be a practical way to bring NORANGO into an existing call journey.

Smart Divert is not evidence that every Vodafone product has the same queue, IVR, schedule or SIP capability. If you use Inbound Voice, SIP Trunking or Teams Direct Routing, we assess that product separately.

Where NORANGO can join the call journey

There is no need to replace a working phone system simply to improve call handling. The practical decision is which calls should reach NORANGO, and at what point.

1. Divert the calls you choose

Keep the number with its current provider and forward all calls, or only calls that meet an agreed condition, to NORANGO. Available conditions and charges depend on the provider product.

2. Let your team try first

Keep users, a hunt group, queue or opening-hours rule ahead of NORANGO. The handover happens when the first call path is busy, unanswered, overflowing or closed.

3. Use a compatible direct route

Some cloud and PBX environments may support a more direct connection. NORANGO confirms the provider product, permissions and technical route before proposing it.

4. Port the number when it suits you

Porting is a separate long-term option, not a requirement to begin. A number hosted with NORANGO can still route callers to agreed people, teams and departments.

What callers experience

When your team is busy

Caller → your business number → usual team or queue → no answer, busy or overflow condition → NORANGO. Your callers still meet the team path you have chosen first; NORANGO becomes the useful next step rather than a missed call.

When your office is closed

Caller → your business number → opening-hours rule → out-of-hours route → NORANGO. Daytime routing can remain as it is while evenings, weekends, holidays or planned coverage follow the agreed reception journey.

When a call needs to return to your business

NORANGO follows the agreed greeting, information capture, booking, escalation and transfer path. The call or its context can return to the agreed person, department or team when that is the right next step.

The documented Smart Divert options

Divert all calls

Vodafone documents *21*number for immediate forwarding on the eligible service.

Divert if unanswered

Vodafone documents *61*number for calls unanswered after 15 seconds.

Divert if busy

Vodafone documents *67*number when the line is busy or on another call.

Example: keep the Vodafone number, protect missed calls

Conditional diversion can preserve the familiar business number while giving the caller a managed next step if the original line cannot answer. Your team and NORANGO agree the greeting, the information to capture and the escalation route.

Set up and reverse the change

1. Check Smart Divert eligibility

Confirm that the live number is an eligible Vodafone Business landline and that the right person is changing call features.

2. Use the documented action

Vodafone documents *21*number, *61*number and *67*number for the three diversion conditions. It documents #21#, #61# and #67# to deactivate them.

3. Make test calls

Test the condition you chose from a separate line, then record the original configuration and the reversal action.

When a Vodafone technical route needs a separate conversation

Does Smart Divert give us a call queue?

Vodafone's public Smart Divert guidance documents diversion conditions. It does not establish a full queue or Auto Attendant feature set for this service.

Can we turn the diversion off?

Vodafone documents deactivation codes for each Smart Divert condition. Retain the original configuration before changing a live line.

Is Smart Divert free?

Vodafone states that Smart Divert is available for a monthly charge on applicable premium plans. Confirm the current account terms and destination cost before activation.

Can we port a Vodafone number?

Vodafone's business guidance describes a port-in request and Customer Letter of Authority. The relevant product, number type and timing should be checked with Vodafone.
